PEE DRIVES.

And S drives and M drives and Z drives. It's like one big bowl of alphabet soup. So I don't use any of the drives BECAUSE THEY ARE SLOW. IT DEPT, I HOPE YALL ARE READING THIS. No really, you guys expect us to use them? Save a 5 MB powerpoint file to your Z drive and goodluck retrieving it in less than 15 minutes.

So I have everything saved to my YA Folder on the P drive. Of course, the only thing I save are flyers and such. Everything else goes on my personal flash drive. For those of ya that dont know what a flash drive is, some people call it a jumpdrive. Or a thumbdrive. Or a memory stick. Or a flash stick. Or removable drive. Or a USB drive. Or a USB stick.

They are convinient because they dont tie up the network drives. JUST DON'T LOSE THE DRIVE OR ELSE YOU ARE SCREWED.

Needless to say, I didn't really have much to "clean." Go Me. Rock on London. Rock on Chicago. Wheaties, Breakfast of ChampionS! - wesley willis

EMAIL.

Can anyone tell that I am really annoyed yet? So I clean out my email everytime I log into it. Why? WHY NOT??? I cannot believe people let their inboxes get full. Unless it is unread, you should delete old email or archive it. That's what I do. Or at least move it to the trash folder. Then it deletes itself. What a concept.

So for my work email I check it ever so often. (By that I mean once a day). Man, the junk people send is ridiculous sometimes. I don't care if you are selling a washer/dryer or that you got new pens. I think I have used the listserve like twice in the 4 years I have worked for the county.

So anyways, I use GMAIL, the best email client their ever was. Period. It routes junkmail straight to my spam box where I can delete it everytime I log in. I archive EVERYTHING else. Unless its a notification that I have a message on myspace or facebook. Those I just delete as well.

SO MY INBOX IS NEVER FULL AND ALWAYS CLEAN. Needless to say, I didn't want to forward anything from my work email to my personal email because that's just plain dumb. And I didn't have to delete anything because I already had done it. But I checked both accounts anyways so I could get my here credit for this module, ya see? Oh yeah, and since I have a blackberry, I can delete stuff from my email using my phone. SO MY INBOX IS NEVER FULL AND ALWAYS CLEAN. So fresh and so clean, clean!!

GOOGLE SYNC

Is awesome. I use it to sync my blackberry to my online calendar. Been using it for months. I like it. You should go buy a smartphone so you can use this too. Google calendar is the best. Google. That's how I GET THINGS DONE. Holla...

Discovery Exercises at Work.

I discovered that there are many people out there in the workforce that don't use computers as much as I thought. I guess thats what I get for assuming. And we all know what we get when we assUME.

23 Thangs...

So this Journey has come to an end. Thank God for that! I learned a few things, but honestly, I already used alot of the stuff already. Either way, it was cool to freshen up my skills and to read up on others' experiences. It motivated me to reach my lifelong goals. An unexpected outcome from this program was that I met people from other branches.

Downloadable media.

So a guy got in trouble this morning at our library because he was looking at pornographic downloadable media...True story. Anyways, I like overdrive because it has various classical recordings that I like listening to. If I need to use digital books I usually just use netLibrary or Safari Books. I noticed that Wowio and LibriVox provide similiar service. Except LibriVox encourages readers to record themselves reading, which could be cool, unless someone reads poorly. Then others download the files of people reading the books. Way cool. Wowio has a wow-factor, lol but its pretty much similar to overDrive and netLibrary. I like them all.

PODCASTING.

So I have been listening to many podcasts and creating podcasts since about 2005. I added the Handstamp podcast to my bloglines. It is a local Houston Chronicle based podcast that deals with the local music scene in Houston.
